S E Barrett & Son
A thirty-year-old building firm that had no website at all. Now it has forty-five pages, every one of them pointed at getting the phone to ring.
How it was builtPoole, DorsetUK-wide by phone
A multi-page site built by hand for your business, with the domain and hosting included in the price. No monthly fee, and you own all of it.
Most businesses like yours are quoted £1,500 to £3,000 for a website, or sold a £40-a-month builder subscription they pay forever. You do not need either. I build them myself, so you pay for the work and nothing else.
The work
All real and all built by me. Move your mouse over a screenshot and it slowly scrolls down, so you can see the whole page rather than just the top of it.

A thirty-year-old building firm that had no website at all. Now it has forty-five pages, every one of them pointed at getting the phone to ring.
How it was built
A private counselling practice with a site that was doing too much at once. Rebuilt calm, with one clear path for people who are looking for support.
How it was built
My own product – an app that does a tradesperson's jobs, invoices and HMRC tax return. The site had to sell software to people who hate software.
How it was builtWhat £200 buys
One price, with no add-ons and nothing extra on the invoice later.
Not a single-page template. Home, services, about, contact – plus pages for the areas you cover and the jobs you have done, if they help you get found.
Registered in your name, with the first year paid by me out of the £200. After that it renews at about £10–£15 a year, which you pay to the registrar directly.
Fast hosting on Cloudflare. A site this size fits comfortably in their free plan, so there is no hosting bill – not in the first year and not after it.
Page titles, descriptions, a sitemap and the structured data Google reads to show your phone number and opening hours. Checked before it goes live.
Most people will find you on a phone. The site is built for that first and checked on real screen sizes.
Straight to your inbox. Plus tap-to-call and tap-to-email on mobile.
The site sets no cookies, so visitors are not greeted by a consent pop-up. If you later add something that does need one, I will set it up properly.
The padlock in the address bar. No browser warnings telling people your site is unsafe.
The domain, the files, the lot. No monthly fee, no contract, and nothing held hostage if you ever want to move it.
How it works
A phone call or a coffee. What you do, who you want to reach, and a few websites you like the look of – they are the quickest way to show me what you have in mind. No charge.
I write down the pages, what goes on each one and the look we are going for. You check it and we agree it before any building starts, so we both know exactly what is being made.
We work on the words together – you know your business, I know what works on a website. You get a link to watch it come together, and any changes within the plan are included.
I point the domain at it, check it on Google and hand you everything. After that I am still on the end of the phone.
Questions
I work on my own, with no office, no staff and no sales team to pay for. Agencies charging £1,500 or more are mostly covering those costs, not doing fifteen times the work. The hosting I use is free for sites this size, so there is nothing to mark up there either.
About £10–£15 a year to renew the domain, paid by you directly to the registrar, not to me. Hosting stays free. There is no monthly fee, no contract and nothing to cancel.
Neither. I build the pages by hand, which is why they load quickly and there are no plugins to update or subscriptions to keep paying. You own the files, so you can move it somewhere else whenever you like.
Three working days, counted from when we have agreed the plan and I have your content – your details, photos and the answers to my questions. Not from our first chat. If a job needs longer, for example because you have fifty products, I will tell you at the start.
Yes. Changes within the agreed plan are included while I build it – wording, photos, colours, layout tweaks. If you want something the plan did not cover, such as extra pages or a different direction, I will quote for it before doing it.
That is normal and not a problem. Photos from your phone are usually fine – real pictures of your own work beat stock photos. If there is no logo I will set your business name in a clean typeface.
Not with a site I build. It sets no cookies, so there is nothing to ask consent for. If you later add something that does use cookies, such as Google Analytics or certain booking tools, I will add a proper consent banner.
No. I am in Poole and happy to meet if you are in Dorset. If you are further away it all works just as well over the phone and email.
A £50 deposit once we have agreed the plan, which books your slot. The remaining £150 when the site is live and you are happy with it. Bank transfer or card, with an invoice either way.
Small things – a new phone number, a price change, another photo – just ask and I will sort them. For bigger additions, like a whole new section, I will give you a price first.
Usually, yes, and often at no extra cost depending on what you need. Ask me and I will tell you whether it is worth doing or whether a phone number would serve you better.
Tell me about your business and I will tell you what I would build for it. There is no charge for a chat.
